The Graph Expands GRT Utility with Chainlink CCIP Integration Across Solana, Arbitrum, and Base

The Graph, a decentralized protocol for indexing and querying blockchain data, has officially integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), unlocking cross-chain functionality for its native token, GRT.

In a blog post published on May 20, the team behind The Graph announced that users will now be able to bridge GRT seamlessly between supported networks including Solana, Arbitrum, and Base. The move marks a significant leap forward in The Graph’s roadmap to enhance the accessibility and versatility of its token.

GRT Comes to Solana with Broader Interoperability

A major highlight of the announcement is GRT’s availability on Solana—a move the team sees as instrumental for onboarding new developers and users from the high-performance Layer 1 ecosystem.

“Extending GRT’s availability to Solana paves the way for deeper collaboration with Solana’s developer and user communities,” the team said.

The expansion is expected to increase adoption of The Graph’s indexing services within Solana’s growing DeFi and NFT sectors.

Cross-Chain Functionality Powered by CCIP

The CCIP integration adds a robust layer of interoperability to The Graph’s infrastructure, introducing features such as:

  • Cross-chain staking and validator delegation
  • Layer 2 query fee payments with GRT
  • Unified token experience across multiple networks

These capabilities will go live as the Graph’s bridging infrastructure rolls out, enabling broader cross-chain use of GRT in decentralized application workflows.

Chainlink’s CCIP Gains More Ground

Chainlink’s CCIP has seen accelerating adoption across top protocols, including its recent integration with Solana’s mainnet. With this rollout, Solana developers gain access to a secure and scalable interoperability layer that can unlock real-world asset tokenization and cross-chain financial primitives.

Other protocols, such as Lombard’s LBTC and DeFi platforms on Aave, are also integrating CCIP to streamline multichain functionality.

The Graph Eyes Future-Proof Web3 Infrastructure

Since its mainnet debut in 2018, The Graph has established itself as the indexing layer for the decentralized web. Its support for Ethereum, Arbitrum, and other networks has powered thousands of dApps in the DeFi, DAO, and NFT ecosystems.

With CCIP integration, The Graph is now positioned to become a key player in the cross-chain data economy—an essential evolution as the Web3 space becomes more interconnected.

This step not only improves the user experience for developers building across multiple chains but also enhances the long-term viability of GRT as a core utility token for the decentralized data economy.
